Work-Shield Pro — 40% Zinc SPF50+ Sunscreen for Tradies & Outdoor Workers
The heavy-duty mineral sunscreen for a full day in the sun. 40% non-nano zinc oxide, SPF 50+ broad spectrum, no chemical UV filters — in ute, site-bag and crib-room sizes.
Heavy-duty 40% zinc, built for a full day in the Australian sun
Work-Shield Pro is ThermaSun’s toughest sunscreen for tradies, farmers, construction crews and anyone working outdoors all day. It runs 40% non-nano zinc oxide — roughly double the 20–25% in most mineral sunscreens — for serious broad-spectrum SPF 50+ protection with no chemical UV filters.
It comes in a pocket 100g tube for the ute, a 240g site-bag size, and a 1kg pump for the crib room or smoko shed so the whole crew can slop on before the shift.
40% zinc
Roughly double the zinc of standard mineral sunscreens for heavy-duty, all-day broad-spectrum cover.
SPF 50+ broad spectrum
Protects against the UVA that ages and damages skin even when you’re not burning.
No chemical filters
Zinc only — nothing to absorb, and far less likely to sting eyes when you sweat.
Crew sizes
100g for the ute, 240g for the site bag, 1kg pump for the crib room.

How to apply for a full work day
Apply generously to all exposed skin at least 20 minutes before going outdoors — don’t forget ears, neck and the back of the hands. Reapply every 2 hours, and more often when you’re sweating heavily or after washing up. For crews, a 1kg pump by the door makes pre-shift application quick.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best sunscreen for tradies and outdoor workers in Australia?
For all-day outdoor work, many tradies choose a high-zinc mineral sunscreen because zinc oxide gives broad-spectrum UVA + UVB cover and is less likely to sting eyes when you sweat. ThermaSun Work-Shield Pro uses 40% non-nano zinc oxide at SPF 50+, with no chemical UV filters, and comes in a 1kg pump for crews.
Why 40% zinc instead of 25%?
Higher zinc content means more mineral UV filter on the skin. At 40% non-nano zinc oxide, Work-Shield Pro is built for people getting extended, intense sun exposure all day, where a heavier-duty barrier is worth it.
Can I buy sunscreen in bulk for my work site?
Yes. Work-Shield Pro comes in a 1kg pump that suits crib rooms, site sheds and ute trays, plus 240g tubes for individual workers. For larger orders, see ThermaSun’s wholesale and trade page.
Will it leave a heavy white cast?
At 40% zinc it is a true mineral sunscreen, so expect a light protective film rather than an invisible finish. Rub in well; the priority for a work formula is durable, visible-on-application protection rather than a cosmetic no-cast look.
Does it sting your eyes when you sweat?
Zinc-only sunscreens are far less likely to sting eyes than chemical sunscreens, which is a key reason outdoor workers prefer them. Still avoid applying right at the brow line where sweat runs into the eyes.
Is it TGA listed and SPF tested?
Yes. Work-Shield Pro is TGA listed under AUST L 525315 and, like all ThermaSun products, is batch SPF tested on every production run.
Why you can trust the zinc in ThermaSun
ThermaSun is built on ZinClear® XP — a pharmaceutical/cosmetic-grade, non-nano zinc oxide whose underlying technology was originally developed by researchers at the University of Western Australia and commercialised by Advance ZincTek (ASX:ANO), an Australian company formed in 1997. It’s the same Australian-made mineral active trusted by dozens of skincare brands worldwide.
Every ThermaSun sunscreen is then made in Queensland by VeganicSKN, is TGA listed (with its AUST L number printed on the pack and searchable on the ARTG), and is batch SPF tested on every production run. Zinc oxide is the broad-spectrum mineral UV filter the TGA recognises, and our zinc-only formulas contain no oxybenzone or octinoxate, so they’re reef safe.
ThermaSun is Australian made in Queensland by VeganicSKN. Always read the label and use only as directed. Sunscreen is one part of sun protection — combine with shade, clothing, a hat and sunglasses. Reapply at least every 2 hours and after swimming, sweating or towelling.
